December 15th, CNN Republican Debate – After physically slapping John Kasich across the stage this past Tuesday night at the CNN Republican debate, Chris Christie invited both criticism and applause by suggesting that Detroit build a wall to keep out Ted Cruz “and other Canadians”.
“Look. I’m tired of these guys suddenly decided they’re going to be president of a country that they weren’t born in, and taking that job away from us hard working citizens who were actually born here,” said Christie in a heated moment after Cruz’s earlier implication that his citizenship wasn’t a big deal, because Canada is going to be annexed to the US when he becomes president.
Christie added that he’s been in talks with Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan to work out a plan for the proposed wall. Mike Duggan’s office had not returned our request for comment as of the time of publication.
